I am so excited about this Sagittarius Full Moon, which occurs at 9° of the Mutable freedom-seeking Fire sign, and not just because I’m a Sagittarius rising. Get ready for the miraculous, magical, and lucky events that only happen once in a Blue Moon! This is the second Full Moon of the month, making it a blue moon. The first full moon occurred on the first day of May in the sign of Scorpio, and this one occurs on the last day of the month in the sign of Sagittarius. This month's lunar influences have held a signature of transformation, release, and liberation. A full moon is always a culmination cycle, an ending, and calls for a complete release of what no longer serves. And this lunation offers an opening, an optimism that fuels a new pathway. The pendulum swings to the Mercurial-ruled sign of Gemini, where the Sun is illuminating and supporting a shift in our outdated perceptions. Now is the time to be open-minded to new pathways and possibilities that will show up on the timeline. Uranus in Gemini is the radical game changer, providing revolutionary new options for our future. Seize the day!
We have all dealt with a lot of heavy themes being purged from the underbelly with a Scorpio Full Moon square its ruler Pluto, and Mars/Pluto squares. This Sag Full Moon also holds an intensity as it squares the lunar nodes, the Moon's own axis. A square always requires reconciliation; we can turn the corner and stay locked into the karmic past with the South node in Virgo, desperately seeking details and guarantees for an outcome or we can finally resign ourselves to the lessons of the past 16 months of this nodal axis of fact and faith and intentionally turn towards the miraculous North node in Pisces, follow our faith, believe the impossible will become possible and trust where our Spirit is guiding us. This moon does have an echoing theme of committing to your dreams and believing that the musings of the mind and spirit that were historically illusory can now take solid form, and that is because of a stellar supportive Fire trine from the Sagittarius Full Moon to Saturn and Neptune in Aries. Aries is the sign of self; what is the next journey of joy, discovery of higher truth, or plan to simply allow yourself to have fun that is being supported for you? Time to follow our dreams!
The personal planets are sending some signals as well. Venus has just arrived in Cancer, seeking emotional fulfillment, and her cosmic lover Mars has just entered Taurus, where the Venusian rules require the God of War to pause before taking action. This placement of Mars poses some questions: Will this sustain me long-term? Will I find this fulfilling two years from now? Am I acting or reacting from a place of self-value or the ego self? Mercury, the ruler of Gemini, where the Sun is opposing this full moon, will enter Cancer on June 1st, following Venus into a new understanding of emotional truth. Let’s not forget that the great benefic Jupiter, the ruler of this lunation, is in the final degree of Cancer as well, so we have both benefic planets in the sign ruled by the Moon. Although Jupiter is not a personal planet. It serves to guide us with its higher wisdom in the sign of compassion and care. What have we learned over the last year regarding our need for emotional nurturing, as well as the truth of our capacity to provide that same care and comfort for others that we connect with out in the world? Jupiter and Venus in the Moon-ruled Water sign of the Divine Mother serve to soften the Soul, and Mercury will soon bring the complete understanding. There is indeed compassion to be embodied with this lunation; it’s been a long, intense month with a grounding Taurus New Moon in the middle of these two full moons. It started with what have I not faced, followed by what am I willing to commit to, and now it is preparing us to take the next right action. One that Divine sovereignty guides. We know who we are, we know what we want, and we are willing to go get it. "To thine ownself be true."
