VIRGO New Moon- reinventing wellness

As the Sun ingresses into Virgo, a New Moon forms when the Sun and Moon become congruent at 0° of the sign on the 22nd/23rd. This is a highly karmic and fated lunation, with our intentions best suited to mutable recalibration. This New Moon forms a rare YOD pattern (finger of God, finger of fate) by creating an inconjunct (quincunx) to Saturn and Neptune, both retrograde in Aries, and also an inconjunct to Pluto retrograde in Aquarius. These aspects requiring adjustment are supported by a sextile from Pluto to Saturn/Neptune at the base. Our luminaries at the apex of this YOD are square to Uranus in Gemini, giving us access to the big picture potential. This is the pivot point!

This new lunar cycle will culminate on September 7th during the Full Moon, which is also the Pisces Total Lunar Eclipse at 15° of the sign. The 2nd Eclipse Season of the year is initiated. We will have two Virgo new moons during this radical Virgo season, as the second and final Eclipse of the year occurs on September 21st at 29° of Virgo. YES, the first Virgo New Moon occurs at 0°, a degree of pure potential that doesn't hold the burden of the past or the fear of the future. The second one happens at the anarectic 29°, the karmic degree of completion.


Perhaps this New Moon is a call to integrate a radical new mentality of adaptability as we seek order. The influence of Uranus during this lunation, on the 22nd, opens us up to progressive possibilities in our approach to mental and physical wellness, as well as our daily routines. What new methods in our daily habits could take us to next-level living? Even though the archetypal attributes of a Virgo are detail-oriented, it is also a mutable (movable) sign. Ruled by Mercury, there is a keen understanding of seeking what works best. This New Moon encourages us to try something we have never done before.


The Virgo New Moon is a pivot point where we can turn the corner and embrace our inner rebel with a cause. There is a background influencing aspect as Venus in late degrees of Cancer creates a square to Chiron retrograde in Aries. What new intentional path of growth are we willing to choose? How are we valuing ourselves in our emotional needs, and also considering the needs of others? What must we leave behind to access a newfound truth, integrity, and form of self-sufficiency?
