Taurus New Moon- Fertile Ground

 The pink cloud appears
The pink cloud appears

The 5/16 Taurus New Moon at 25° 57' energies through the lens of a 26° Taurus native, yes, Me. I will admit that a tense background influencing aspect is that this New Moon is conjunct the ominous fixed star Algol (and my Sun!) at 26° of Taurus. Fear not, we Taureans, as well as the other three fixed signs, Scorpio, Aquarius, and Leo, have survived seven years with the rebel planet Uranus, shocking our signs…we are NOT going to lose our heads now! It’s time to integrate the archetype influence in a healthy, empowered, and, considering the current state of world affairs, potentially necessary manner. The Age of Aquarius is upon us, which includes the current Pluto return for us in the US.

This lovely lunation comes with a very Uranian signature. Especially considering Uranus has just exited the grounded Earth sign of Taurus after almost seven years. The Sun conjoins Mercury just before the New Moon, and then the Sun enters Mercury-ruled Gemini and meets up with Uranus just after the new lunar cycle is initiated. This feels like the final upgraded physicality meets the revitalized mentality. The greater awareness of what is truly of value. What feels fertile? After years of disruption, this New Moon offers a stabilizing sense of abundance, attraction instead of promotion, and fortuitous materialization of a life worth living. This is where everyone, but especially Taurus, and all of the Fixed signs can integrate a new ideology. One that has come in many chaotic means of radicalization and liberation. What have we learned? Mars conjunct Chiron in Aries serves to propel us beyond any wounding or insecurities about who we are, and the luminaries in Taurus congruently convey what will sustain us. This is where we intentionally own it; the empowered warrior archetype ready to be embodied.

Keep in mind that as we move forward, Venus, the ruler of this lunation, was conjoined to unconventional Uranus as it left her sign and entered Gemini in late April. The lessons of romance, resources, love, and money can now operate in a higher vibrational expression. This signature will follow the entire Uranus transit in Gemini. Now that we see ourselves differently, have a greater understanding of self-acceptance and self-love, we can resign to communicate such from a grounded, revolutionary new perspective and personification of self.

May 14th: Mercury meets the heart of the Sun at 23° of Taurus, creating a Cazimi effect. This occurs at the midpoint of the current Mercury cycle, a time when any plans that were put into place over the last few months are starting to show results. An illumination that is preparing our minds for the upcoming Sun/Uranus Cazimi, and giving us a preview of the Uranus transit through Gemini energetic implications.

May 16th: We have a New Moon at 25° of Taurus, providing new pathways in areas that until this point showed no potential. This Moon is conjunct Mercury and Uranus in Taurus and Gemini, respectively, and sextile to Jupiter in Cancer; we may suddenly change our minds about people and partners we have been emotionally vested in. In the background, Mars is conjoined to Chiron at 28° of Aries, allowing us to move beyond old insecurities and inner wounds, while Venus, the ruler of this lunation, is sextile to Mars, which allows us to act based on what is considered of value. This is a fertile new intention-setting time indeed. The Moon is exalted in Taurus, meaning we become more in tune with the physical body and our connection to nature.

May 17th: Mercury leaves Aries and enters Gemini, where it immediately conjoins Uranus at . Gemini is Mercury‘s home sign, and Uranus represents the higher octave of the neutral Messenger planet. This is the beginning of a seven-year transit of elevated awareness and ushers in a broader perspective of possibilities. Keep in mind that Uranus crossed over into Gemini conjoined to Venus, so themes around resources, self-sustainability, partnerships, and money will be seen through a higher vibrational lens from this point on. Prepare for downloads!

May 18th: Mars leaves its home sign of Aries and enters Taurus, the home of its cosmic lover, allowing us to cool our jets and pause for the cause prior to taking action. This moves our personal planet of ego identity from impulsivity to endurance based on desired comfort. We are willing to put forth the effort in areas that we deem fulfilling for the long-term.

May 18th: Venus leaves the mutable Air sign of Gemini and enters the Cardinal Water sign of Cancer in search of emotional comfort and safety, with a strong concentration on family and those who feel like kin. Compassion for ourselves and others comes easily with this transit. A perfect time to embrace the beauty of vulnerability and embody healing around lingering familial emotional wounding. Very inate intuitive Yin energy ensues.

May 20th: the Sun leaves the comfort of Taurus and enters the Air sign of Gemini, speeding up the pace. A time when we may feel more social and willing to connect with more people. This influence is greatly magnified by the 22nd, when the Sun conjoins Uranus at  of the sign, creating the second Cazimi this month. It behooves us to be open-minded to doing everything differently, even if it seems risky in the eyes of others. This is the first Gemini Season in close to 80 years that has occurred with Uranus in this mutable sign. "Shift Life" now becomes the new mantra.
