Mercury retrograde-Fire & Water reformation

Mercury, the Messenger God of both the Divine and Mortal realms, stations retrograde at 6° of Sagittarius on November 9th for its final retrograde phase of this calendar year. As this planet of duality leaves Sagittarius and moves back into Scorpio, some deep truths and soul-level understanding are bound to be revealed. Mercury will meet up with Mars again, the first conjunction having occurred on October 20th at 19° of Scorpio. What planets or points do you have around 16°-26° of Scorpio in your chart? With the higher heart of truth brought in via Sagittarius energies, it seems that the Mercury retrograde will be directly related to what we must let die, an awareness and acceptance of that organic process, and the freedom to pursue all that the soul yearns for as revealed in the watery nostalgic depths of Scorpio. The shapeshifter planet will re-enter Scorpio on November 18th and then start to connect with the outer planets, first with an opposition to Uranus retrograde in Taurus at 29°, the karmic degree of completion; how have you freed yourself since 2019, and what is the final embodiment of that new self-value? Most notably, Mercury meets the heart of the Sun on November 20th at 28°Scorpio, creating a Cazimi (ah-ha moment) just as the Scorpio New Moon perfects at the same degree. Deep secrets and hidden resources will be greatly illuminated, have eyes to see and ears to hear, and set those new intentions accordingly.

The Sun crosses over Mercury and enters the sign of Sagittarius on November 22nd, kicking off a new season in a new element. Water to Fire, and Fire to Water. What are we igniting, drowning, or resurrecting? By the 22nd, Mercury retrograde creates a supportive Grand Water trine to Saturn retrograde in Pisces and Jupiter retrograde in Cancer at 25° then 24° respectively. This master configuration sends a message of Celestial comfort in the process of karmic clearings. A new understanding of an old timeline that is ending, coupled with an optimistic renewal of hope and faith for what we can create next year. Then on the 24th of this month, it gets personal as our ideas and values become congruent when Mercury and Venus conjoin at 22° in the sultry Water sign. After all, our heart and mind must be on the same page AND aligned with our values before we can effectively put a plan into action.

Finally, on November 29th, Mercury will station direct at 20°Scorpio, re-enter Sagittarius on December 11th, and leave its post-retrograde shadow on December 16th. The final curtain call of the year is complete. And then...What have we learned? As these realizations take form, we can put our new mindset into motion when Mercury meets up with Mars in the Saturn-ruled sign of Capricorn on January 18th. Needless to say, a long-term commitment will be required.
