JANUARY-The Wheel of Time turns

A new phase begins. Planetary shifts will transition us into a new Gregorian calendar year and usher us into a new Aquarian age. As we move into January, a stellium of our personal planets travels with the Sun in disciplined Capricorn, grounding us into our goals. That will seem like a challenge initially as Mercury, in the late degrees of Sagittarius, creates hard connections to the outer planets, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. As January concludes, the limitations will be lifted. The remaining big planets prepare to change signs in 2026, minus Pluto, which moved into Aquarius in November 2024. As we collectively experience a cyclical clock that is out of our control, the influence of Venus, Mars, and Mercury shows us what we CAN do in our daily lives and personal world.
Right off the bat, the Cancer Full Moon on the 3rd highlights the axis of duty and dreams, our home and work requirements. Capricorn energies are stoic, pragmatic, and grounded, while the Cancer sensitivities are all about the need for comforting our emotional soul body. The ruler of this lunation IS the Moon, magnifying the Cancer need for nurturing. It is imperative to find the balance, the safe stance between the two extremes. And we will benefit from that ability next year as we move into a lot of Fire element movement. Acting on our desires doesn't mean overdoing it. Chiron, our wounded healer, will station direct in Aries the day before the Super full Moon, an echoing theme of the need for self-care and a clear recognition of when we need to rest.
The energy shifts mid-month with a Capricorn New Moon supporting our new and long-term intentions. Mars and Venus ground us into what is of value, and when Mercury conjoins Mars for the third conjunction since his retrograde began in Scorpio, we are certain of what we are physically committing to. The clarifying moment of the next step. A perfect time to set intentions for the upcoming year centered around themes of long-term security and our ability to stay the course. The personal planets and the Sun then start to ingress into the revolutionary sign of Aquarius, shifting us from a season of Cardinal Earth to one of Fixed Air. First, our quick-moving planets, Venus, Mars, and Mercury, meet the heart of our galaxy star, and now, as they move into Aquarius, they will one by one begin their conjunction with Pluto in Aquarius. Quite the contrast. The brightest bright and the darkest dark; the duality. Where is your power? Take the risk, make the shift, and try everything differently. We may be surprised by how a radical new approach could provide the staying power.
The biggest kicker of January is that Neptune, the ruler of the ethereal realm, will leave its home sign of Pisces and enter Aries. The fog lifts, and the disillusionment starts to dissipate. Whatever story we initiated 14 years ago is now complete. Be prepared for a restoration of faith, especially in our own visions. The Cardinal Fire sign of Aries is urging us to ignite our passions and begin building our future dreams as we anticipate the extremely rare, like 9,000 years rare, conjunction of Saturn and Neptune at the Aries Zero degree point in February. The planets are conspiring on our behalf and providing the miraculous support for us to make good on our goals.
