Capricorn Full Moon

ree

We are at the mid–July Cancer synodic cycle with a Capricorn Full Moon culminating at 18° opposite the Sun in the moon-ruled sign of Cancer. This lunation is ruled by Saturn, which is within orb conjunct to Neptune, preparing to initiate a new spiritual duty at 0° Aries. But first, what holds weight in our current world? Neptune stationed retrograde on the 4th, and Saturn will follow suit on the 13th in the wake of the Full Moon. These two starkly different archetypes, moving back into Pisces for a final review, will serve to examine the previous boundaries and responsibilities, revealing how far we have actually come. The Lord of Karma, Saturn, is debilitated in Aries, struggling to initiate a new timeline, yet reminding us that anything worth having is worth working for. With the Neptune influence close by, the truth of what will no longer provide stability, urges us to commit to our unrequited dreams and anchor them into a new construct of reality.

What can we envision beyond the rigid realm of the past?

The Cancer Sun opposite the stoic Full Moon can provide the emotional intelligence to cultivate what fulfills our emotional longing for family, far beyond forelorn ancestral lessons forged in outdated programming. As we contemplate the innate need to feel safe and nurtured, we can consider who will now become our new kin. There is a current echoing theme of ending familial stories that no longer ring true. Emotional boundaries are big with this lunation as we consider who we really are, where we've come from, and what we intend to head towards in the future. The anchor of this emerging path is to recognize what works for us as an individual.

The strong and steady Saturn ruled Full Moon stands alone, almost completely unaspected, except for a supportive Earth trine to Mars in Virgo. This means that the Sun in Cancer is conversely sextile to Mars, helping us pause for the cause and take steps with intention. Calculated actions serve us well due to Mars's close proximity to the lunar South Node in Virgo. These connections to the serious Capricorn Full Moon are showing us what we must let go of that is no longer healthy or beneficial to ourselves or others. There is a "make it make sense" vibe of authenticity emerging as we set our sights on a new lunar cycle.

Key considerations:

  • Examine commitments, work, and responsibilities to see where you have fulfilled your duty and met the self-imposed obligations

  • Reconsider sacred soul vows and their future viability

  • Release attachment to what has served its intended purpose

  • Recognize all of your accomplishments

  • Revel in the seriousness of Saturn, what is the cosmic taskmaster saying?

  • Accept what is ready to close and complete

  • Reflect on visions, ambitions, and dreams that may be ready to initiate

  • Be willing to commit to new long-term goals that arise

  • Resign to move into a new soul path with emotional maturity
