Saturn in Aries-Boundaries & Bravery

05/24/25
05/24/25

Saturn finally leaves the nebulous fog of Pisces and moves into the Cardinal Fire sign of Aries for the first time in almost 30 years. The last time this planet of rules, regulations and requirements moved through the sign of the rambunctious Ram was 1996 to 1999. Think back to the societal advancements of that time to consider what is coming full circle. How can we make these systems better in a whole new way now? There is a completion at play as Saturn leaves the final sign of Pisces and enters the first house ruler, determined to initiate something more substantial. The stoic Time Lord will be joining Neptune in Aries, and they both will be retrograding back into Pisces for a bit this year, yet we are preparing to move on now. Soon, the ethereal sign of Pisces will have no placement of planets, which hasn't happened in 23 years, and I think it's safe to say, we are all ready for something real. I have spoken about this transit for quite a long time and I feel certain that my readers are aware and prepared but let's review some themes.

Saturn is associated with karma, mainly because he is the autority that provides the reward or consequeses for our due diligence or lack thereof. Saturn is the disciplined curator of the construct we call time. Anything worth having is worth working for is the echoing theme of a Saturn influence. Saturn rules the stoic earth sign of Capricorn and is considered a malefic planet. This means that its placement in impulsive Aries is challenging and requires strength. Also referred to as Father Time, it's slow moving energy yields a steady wisdom to what we are creating. Long-term stability is the goal.

Aries rules the first house of the zodiac, the place where our Spirit comes into physical form, the very spark of our primal nature. It is a sign ruled by Mars and represents our passions, desires and physical determination. Aries ask us what we are ready to begin, create, or launch? Because it is the sign of self these are personal endeavors fueled by our individual passions. What is our new duty or spiritual mission? What are we physically showing up for unapologetically and with fierce authenticity?

If this planet and sign seem like strange bedfellows, that s because they are! Saturn is actually in fall in the sign of Aries, therefore it is difficult for the archetypal energies to be expressesed. Saturn is not about a fleeting fancy, it is a 28.5 to 30 year transit therefore whatever we start now we must ask ourselves "will I still be fired up about it in 10 years, 20 years, or three decades?" Saturn in Aries screams "just do it!" however, with the transiting North Node of destiny in Pisces, sufficient inspiration is required prior to moving forward.

Look to the house that Aries occupies in your chart to see where Saturn will be bringing a serious lesson of maturity for the next three year cycle. Commitment and responsibilities are requiring action in this part of your life.. It is about being prepared for the future you are creating. Do you have the necessary systems and structures in place? How could you make them more solid? Saturn offers the pause for the cause in the sign of Aries. We must think about long-term consequences before we begin. Aries initiates the new endeavors, and Saturn brings the solid commitment and staying power. What are the unrequited dreams you are ready to bring to fruition?

Since Saturn is related to societal systems, we must consider the implications. We all see the outdated structures are crumbling. Aries says "what can we build better?" Since Saturn has just completed a transit through the 12th house ruler of Pisces, any abuse of power or authority hidden behind the fog of illusion will now be revealed and rest assured, there will be consequences! This of course, applies to us personally as well. Saturn is the bridge between the inner and outer planets, our personal lives, and how we connect with others out in the world. We will be required to take a stark look at how we have presented ourselves to others and re-examine the illusory versions that are ready to be released.

Saturn enters Aries May 24th and will transit through the sign until September 1st when it will station retrograde and return to Pisces.

Saturn will re-enter Aries February 2026 and will stay in the Cardinal Fire sign until April 2028.

Saturn is following the path of the Pisces ruler Neptune, and they are within orb of conjunction all year. Saturn, the solid form and Neptune the imagined fancy will become one when they conjoin at the Aries 0° point in February of 2026. Saturn is bringing the substance to our divine inspiration and future visions. Dream a big dream and be true to You!
